Work continues on the New Gold Corp Express Chairlift. There are 13 tower footings to form, and each footing needs about 6 yards to be complete. The helicopter can carry approximately a half a yard of cement per trip, so there will be about 150 trips or more to create all 13 footings. This activity will continue today and then again in the morning until the footings are done.
Using a helicopter makes this part of the project go much faster, and it's safer and more affordable than hauling the cement up the mountain in cement trucks.
The massive forest fires going on right now have made helicopter services somewhat limited so, we feel lucky to have been able to utilize the pilots and their aircraft on their way to and from the forest fires.
